anniversary snowshoes

January 25, 2011 Leave a comment Go to comments

Spring is already springing in Portland, so for our 12th anniversary Nancy and I drove up to Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood to visit winter and do some snowshoeing. The weather was great — mid-30’s, mostly sunny without much wind, and clear views across the snow-covered Cascades to the south.  (You may remember our previous – and first- snowshoeing adventure last winter.)

Nancy is showing off her style with the hat and scarf she knitted herself.

Mount Jefferson south of Mount Hood.

Taking in the view from the chairlift is a great finishing touch to every snowshoeing outing.

I am a month late but Happy Anniversary!! May you enjoy many more years of wedded bliss.

We did snow shoeing for the first time around the skibowl area. It was fun except the fact that I had trouble finding(feeling) my toes and fingers for a while.

    — Thanks! Since January we’ve done more snowshoeing around Government Camp, probably in the same area you mentioned. So far, we’ve kept the outings short enough to retain feelings in our extremities :-).
