Bad Poetry Day

August 18 each year is Bad Poetry Day, so here are five very bad poems written today. Enjoy them if you can, but remember they’re supposed to be bad (unlike the rest of my poems :-)

Bad Haiku #1: Sun

Sun so bright it hurts
But then when I close my eyes
Dark spots are dancing

Bad Haiku #2: Spring

I love spring, except
For all the rain and bugs and mud
So really, spring sucks

Bad Limerick: Rhymes

There once was a poet named Dave
Whose rhymes were incredibly poor.
His readers’ vile curses
Made him give up on verses
So he settled on haiku instead.

Bad Haiku #3: Silence

How many syllables is that?

Bad Haiku #4: Thinking

Thinking of thinking
Drinking, blinking, and thinking
Winking, then sinking

    Oh yeah.
Your regular poems aren’t bad either. ;-)
