dave and nancy’s april adventure

One sunny spring Saturday afternoon, Nancy and I took a walking tour of downtown Portland. Our stroll took us through the campus of Portland State University, and eventually to Powell’s City of Books, a bookstore that takes up a whole city block! Gotta like that :-)

By that time we were ready for a break from walking, so we took the convenient (and free) downtown trolley while Nancy worked on one of her knitting projects.

Not done resting yet :-) we stopped in a little coffee shop and watched the cross-town light rail trains go by. Energy restored, we went on to see the Performing Arts center and the History Museum.

In the atrium of the Performing Arts center is a sculture/chair donated to the city by an artist in one of Portland’s sister cities. It looks sort of like something my brother Tom would make if he was a sculptor :-)

As evening came on, we could have stayed downtown to join in the nightlife, but our feet were tired and the puppies were waiting for dinner, so we headed home.
