new h’ku

Another poem in the “h’ku” style.

last hints of
evening pinks

cold pinpoints,
blinking

warm weight
held close

quick steps
quickening

I’m walking home through the neighborhood late on a winter afternoon. Gray clouds show faint traces of the sunset beyond. I hug close a comfortingly warm bag of takeout chinese, and pull down my cap against the chill wind’s first raindrops until home comes in view.
