haiku party

On August 12, 2005, I participated in a “haiku party”. Each person was given a word, and then had 5 minutes to make a haiku about that word, with the usual three lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables. Here are the words I was given, and the haiku I wrote based on them.

“words words words”, quoth he —
the tragic Dane should have said
less and acted more

she tries to leave him
but morning always finds her
returning sadly

wiggle giggle dee
apple-living worm am me
don’t me bite oh you!

afraid of the world —
now hiding behind my mask
of indifference
