july 4 fun

For July 4 this year, we visited our friends Anne & Edwin for their East Bay town’s Independence Day parade. And even though Silicon Valley is a major metropolitan area, the parade had a real small-town feel.

There were the usual high-school marching bands, patriotic balloons, floats, and Cub Scout troups, of course…

…and what would a small-town 4th of July parade be without bagpipers? Hmmm, or is that Christmas? There were eleven of them…

But what I really liked was the display of all the latest, coolest cars, top-of-the-line farm equipment, and ultramodern mobile homes! :-)
