fall colors tour
Nancy and I flew in to the Twin Cities to visit our friends Lisa and Ted, and their children Rosie and Ben. The weather couldn’t have been nicer, and the fall colors were spectacular. Lisa and Ted’s house is tucked away in the woods by a lake in western Wisconsin. Their “back yard” still has its original woods, with deer paths.
One day we drove to a nearby park to go for a walk in the woods. Ben is quite the explorer, and even walked up to some deer.
In one spot we found an interestingly-shaped rock, that we thought resembled a giant buried up to his neck! :-)
Another day we drove into the city to visit the zoo.
After that visit, we drove a scenic highway to visit Tom and Chan in their new place in Mankato. They had only made the move from Washington state the week before, so we even got to help them unpack a few things :-).
We took a wandering path back up to the city for our return flight, driving along the Mississippi. Autumn is the definitely our favorite time of year in the mid-west!
