Nancy and I had made reservations at Portland’s “The Lion and the Rose” B&B for our overnight stay. With Tom driving and Chan navigating, we found the B&B with no problems, in a historic residential district east of the river and very close to downtown Portland.

Nancy and Chan both “oooh”-d and “aahh”-d over the Victorian decor (OK, I liked it too :-)

When we arrived it was just about tea-time, and the hostess gave us a little tour of the house ending up in the downstairs parlor near the kitchen, where tea and cake was waiting – yum!

Then Tom and Chan had to head back home, and Nancy and I got to sit back and relax for a while. I think I was probably asleep within two minutes of stretching out across the bed!
