hike with a&e

January 13, 2001 Leave a comment Go to comments

Nancy and I went for a hike with Anne and Edwin in the park up in the hills above our house. It was pretty typical January weather: cool (60’s) and cloudy, and we’d had a pretty good rain the week before.

At one point, Anne found an old madrone tree whose core was hollow, and she decided that she was going to climb down inside. We couldn’t really tell if the hole had a solid bottom or if the leaves were covering a deep pool of water and mud… but Anne (ever the adventurous one :-) was determined to try. Fortunately, the hole was only about 6 feet deep, and dry. Even so, getting out was harder than getting in!
