thanksgiving with my family

November 28, 1998 Leave a comment Go to comments

The next day, Nancy and I drove to my parents Bert and Jane’s house for my family’s combined Thanksgiving/Christmas celebration. The whole family was there: My brother Jeff, his wife Terry, and children Josh, Jessie, and Jake, my brother Don and his wife Brenda, my sister Beth and her children Garrett and Hannah, my brother Tom and his wife Chantill, and Grandpa Joe.

As you can imagine with so many young children, opening presents was the first order of business. :-)

After the presents were all opened was the annual attempt to get all the cousins organized and posed for pictures. Jake wasn’t pleased with being asked to stop playing with his new toys long enough to have his picture taken. :-)

Jeff: “C’mon Jake”

Jake: “Don’t wanna!”

After all the pictures were taken, it was time to get back to some serious playtime!

Nancy and I stayed overnight at Mom and Dad’s. The next morning, Garrett came over to have grandpa Bert help him with his new training wheels. The weather in Iowa was amazingly mild for late November, and Nancy and I took a sightseeing walk around town before she had to head home, since she had work and class the next day.
