a walk in the sun

I’ve joined a fitness program at work, to help me get in shape and to get me out of the office and into the sun more often. I’m supposed to walk for at least half an hour at least three times per week, and track my progress on a checksheet.

So today between meetings, I grabbed a water bottle and the camera, and set out around the jogging trail. It’s about a mile and a half walk, I’d guess, at least around the inner loop.

It’s been a pretty wet winter so far, so the hills are a brilliant green, though the almond trees aren’t blooming yet. In a few months everything will be a tawny brown, except for the oak trees.

Some of the early wildflowers have started blooming, but nothing compared to what they’ll be like in a month or so. It will be fun to watch the changes as my walking program continues…
