anniversary snowshoes

January 25, 2011 1 comment

Spring is already springing in Portland, so for our 12th anniversary Nancy and I drove up to Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood to visit winter and do some snowshoeing. The weather was great — mid-30′s, mostly sunny without much wind, and clear views across the snow-covered Cascades to the south.  (You may remember our previous – and first- snowshoeing adventure last winter.)

Nancy is showing off her style with the hat and scarf she knitted herself.

Mount Jefferson south of Mount Hood.

Taking in the view from the chairlift is a great finishing touch to every snowshoeing outing.

answer: two goldens in a tussle :-)

Update (Jan 18): Some smart-aleck friends have proposed some different solutions to this riddle :-)

  • Octobod Crane
  • zombie leftovers
  • a small committee (from a friend in the corporate world)

bailing out the boat

Today is bailing out the boat day (meaning my work to-do list). I may not be getting any closer to shore, but it’s at least a step in the right direction :-).
